Hog Fuel NZ is a future-driven, family-owned Local Business and is active at forestry slash sites and orchards with our portable unit, producing hog fuel for local factories.
Everyone wants a more sustainable New Zealand and at Hog Fuel NZ, we aren’t just sitting back and hoping for the best. We challenge traditional thinking by fully utilising a sustainable energy source that would otherwise be wasted, left to rot, washed down rivers to wreak havoc in floods or burned in large bonfires adding to air pollution. Our wood chipping services and hog fuel products have the power to aid New Zealand to stop relying on fossil fuels to run big factories.
We provide cost-effective solutions to forestry waste and land clearance that help our clients to meet their commitments and legal requirements, while simultaneously producing a carbon neutral hog fuel, mulch, compost or wood chip for calf bedding and playground material for schools. We take, what is otherwise wasted, and turn it into something clean, eco-friendly and even profitable!

Our Machines
Hog Fuel NZ is best known for our huge red Morbark 3400XT Wood Hog, but our Kobleco Tree Shear and ASV RT-120F Denis Cimaf Mulcher (above) are also essential parts of this awesome team, ready to take on any challenge!
The Morbark 3400XT Wood Hog is a versatile machine, featuring the ability to make it as narrow as 2.59m, allowing us to transport it almost anywhere. With 800 horsepower (596kW), the 3400XT can be configured for a broad range of applications, such as turning it into a chipper that can also separate any foreign materials; steel is separated by magnet and collected in a bin, allowing it to be recycled later on.
